Fresh Red Strawberry

About our U-pick farm

Nestled on 18 acres of fertile, midwest farmland, our family-run farm invites you to slow down and savor simple pleasures. What began as a small homestead in the 1800s, our farm is still lovingly tended by the Heider family, with the sixth generation of Heider growing up and working on the farm.

Visiting Heider's Berry Farm

Wander through neat rows of strawberry beds and raspberry bushes as you revel in the peace of a day out in the country. Pick ripe, fragrant strawberries right from the loaded plants or fill a basket with plump, delicious  raspberries, both perfect for eating fresh, baking, or turning into jam.   You'll also find fresh picked rhubarb, zucchini, or tomatoes if you come at the right time. Paths are stroller and wheelchair friendly, and a shaded picnic area makes it easy to linger.

Bring comfortable shoes, a sun hat, and a sense of curiosity. Whether it’s your first visit or a seasonal tradition, our farm offers warm hospitality, delicious berries, and an authentic countryside experience steeped in history.

Our Vision

strawberry plants.jpg

Growing up on the farm meant playing outside every day, running, climbing, exploring, and of course - picking and eating lots of delicious berries. We want to share that wholesome, pre-digital-age joy with others. We offer an authentic farm experience where you can ungplug, step back from the fast pace of today's world and reconnect with nature.

Our knowledgeable family members are on hand to show you the best picking tips, share a story about the farm’s past, and help you take home berry boxes, jars of our small-batch jam, or handcrafted wood creations.
